New key features:
Shock mounts:
The most visible new feature are the new shock mounts. They offer the possibility to add more flex by removing the connecting carbon brackets.
New bumper:
Another improvement has come from the new bumper. It is an aerodynamic improvement, but as the same time it gives more support to the bodyshell. It also is a lot more resistant to bending. All of that comes with a reduced weight by almost 10g!!!
Redesigned tank and topdeck:
The EVO also features a revised fuel tank, allowing more clearance with the carburettor, and also allowing to raise the tank as desired. The new shape of the tank is accompanied by a revised topdeck
New front lower arms:
The new front arms feature a carbon downstop lever which gives a much more accurate and consistent downstop setting, a very important part of the car’s setup.
Redesigned front one-way:
A modified front one-way shaft allows a more narrow setting than in the past. A front narrow trackwidth is important to be able to achieve on most tracks nowadays
Modified front and rear arms:
Another change to the arms (front and rear) is the extra 1mm adjustment in wheelbase.
Inserts front and rear:
Of course the EVO still features the removable inserts for the upright as well as the steering blocks for super easy maintenance.
In the EVO both inserts are centric, eccentric versions for extra setup possibilities are available as options
All of the above features have been extensively tested and found to improve performance.
Rear toe link and arm:
The rear toe-link has been beefed up.
New Optionals:
Battery position:
It will be possible to put the battery underneath the fuel tank to improve the left-right weight balance.
The batteryplate is also available in brass, in case you need more weight to achieve the minimum weight.
Chassis stiffner:
The new topdeck allows for another new option which is the new stiffener bracket connecting the rear end to the topdeck
Main Features:
Chassis:
7075 T6 Aluminium 5mm chassis plate
The 5mm aluminium chassis has perfect symmetrical shape for even flex and weight distribution. The ultra-narrow chassis is very light, while it still remains strong in critical places.
The central weight bridge is mounted from underneath and allows for a quick change of the weight. The weight itself is fixed using a nylock nut. Bulletproof!
The optional front weight bridge is also mounted from the bottom to allow easy access to the weight.
There are 2 additional locations to put a small weight, just behind the servo-saver and in front of the engine.
Radiobox:
The “backbone” of it is a carbon plate and an aluminium frame. The aluminium servo mounts are eccentric and can be mounted in 2 ways to adjust them to the brand of servos. The receiver box is more spacious than the one used in our 988, still it is very compact. It provides enough space even for older type receivers plus the transponder
Antiroll bar:
The wire type front anti-roll bar is ball raced. It is easy to change and adjust due to the open front end design. The standard wire is 2.5mm and 2 optional thicknesses are available. The pivot ball link system directs the suspension movement to the bar and allows easy tweak adjustment.
Front lower arms:
The long durable front lower wishbones are the open-style arms similar to the 977. An aluminium shock mount plate is screwed onto the lower wishbone. This allows the shock attachment point to be placed further outwards improving shock motion. The front lower arms are mounted to the front brackets with nylon holders. The kit includes 2 versions: in and out. This system also enables quick and easy front drive shaft maintenance. Of course the 988 closed arms are usable as well
Front suspension brackets:
The 3 position inserts allow camber-change adjustments and are held in place by the anodized aluminium top brackets. Below the top brackets, spacers can be used to change their angle or height. Caster is adjusted with clips on the upper pivot pins. The same clips are also used on the lower pivot pins to change wheelbase.
Servo saver:
The central mounted servosaver allows easy and fast Ackermann adjustment. The servosaver features a top mounted insert which can be used in 3 positions. Another 3 Ackermann positions are available on the steering blocks.
Rear end assembly:
The rear end construction with aluminium brackets is a very open design, which allows for easy of maintenance and cleaning. Dis-assembly requires the removal of only a few screws. Replacing a belt if needed, is a simple task. The eccentric bearing holders on the rear shaft allow adjustment of belt tension. The whole rear end can be removed as one unit from the chassis by removal of only a few screws.
The narrow solid rear axle in Serpent spring steel has a lightweight 9mm wide 48T pulley. Spring steel, CVD type, drive shafts connect the rear shaft to spring steel wheel-axles with aluminium quick-change levers. A very durable and long lasting drivetrain.
Rear body mount:
The rear floating body mount which is mounted on the up-rights with 2 arms is centred by a carbon-fibre and steel guider. The mount has 4 positions on each side to choose from, depending on body shell used and traction available. The threaded holes on the end of the body mount give the option to add further body-supports.
Optionals:
Our new MBL competition belts feature a special construction of the internal Kevlar reinforcement fibers, combined with a new material of the belt itself.
The belt improves the drivetrain efficiency by 50% due te reducing the external as well the internal friction.
903854 Belt 90S3M201 MBL competition S9XX
903855 Belt 60S3M210 MBL competition S9XX
903856 Belt 60S3M432 MBL competition S9XX
Bodymount Carbon:
The new Carbon bodymount is a much lighter version then the original bodymount.
It provides excellent support for all Xtreme bodyshells. The total weight is 21gr, witch saves 14 gr to the standard bodymount.

Jeff Hamon reports SIGP Sunpadow 2024 (03/27/2024)
Arriving in Xiamen, China at 1am on Wednesday it was a quick few hours sleep at the hotel before making the way to the ever impressive 3 Circles / Sunpadow Facility. Having been here in 2019 I quickly remembered being shocked on just how enormous this place was! RC HEAVEN.
Being quite unique this event offers to run EP TC and IC on the same track (different layouts). Deciding to run both Modified TC and 1/8 GP I knew it was going to be busy.. I may have underestimated just how busy..
Without much experience and knowledge yet with our new Serpent X20 ’24 I decided to concentrate a bit more in practice on finding some setups. Learning a lot along the way with my EP driving style, tyre management and setup we managed to qualify 5th for the main.
