Chassis
Symmetrical chassisplate for even flex and torsion in 3mm carbon fibre, lowered where the motor mounts as low as possible in the car.

Topdeck
The 2mm carbon fibre topdeck connect the front and rear suspension.

Battery holders
The battery holders are in carbon fibre and have sleeves to enable use of battery mounting taope easily.

Servo-holder
very low mounted servo, a a strong carbon/alu holder which is centrally mounted for even flex

Motor / midshaft / anti-roll bar holder
the motor is mounted on a low strong aluminium holder, which doubles as mid-shaft holder and rear anti-roll bar holder as well.

The mid-shaft mounts in 2 seperate holders with the ballbearing inside to enanble a fast and easy change of gears.

RCM shocks
Hard Teflon coated threaded shockbodies in high quality aluminium. Supersmooth o-ring / bushing package, to guide and seal the spring-steel piston rods. Precision moulded pistons included in 3 types. Threaded pre-load shocknuts in alu with o-ring inside. Light but strong nylon spring-cups. Tight fitting ball-joints in top and bottom.

Front bumper
Newly designed lower front bumper with aerodynamic effects and better protection. Some parts of the lower bumper can be cut open to create more steering. The upper bumper / bodymount holder connect to the lower one to create a strong structure to absorb the crashes. The foam elements ( normal or large) can still be placed but are optional.

Shocktower front
3.0mm carbon fibre shocktowers with 3 positions for upper shockmounting. In the centre you can mount the 3rd bodypost as needed.

Front brackets
A compact and superlight structure of topquality aluminium parts consist of top-brackets, L and R equal bearing brackets, lower suspension bracket front, L and R equal FR-RR standing suspension holders and rear, anti-roll bar holder and Lightened machined alu brackets, equal left and right, toothed section allow setting belt tension with excenters which seat the bearings. Machined alu topbrackets L and R version to hold the upper arms. Suspension bracket front . All crafty machined and grey anodised parts. The open style design allows for very fast parts exchange as needed, like belt, diff or anti-roll bar.

Suspension front
Strong long double A-arm suspension with aluminium pivotballs, which pivot in light nylon cups. Medium hard nylon used for the arms to have some flex to increase grip, and make them most durable. The arms pivot on the inside on springsteel pins. The pivot-inserts are used to change rollcenter. Small grubscrews mount in the upper bracket to control downstop. Easy to access and change ride height, front width, toe-in, caster and camber.

Steeringblocks / wheelaxles / cvd
Very strong nylon steeringblocks with 2 ackermann positions . The spring-steel wheelaxles are seated in high speed bearings. The light and durable spring-steel cvd’s bring all the power to the front wheels. Wheels are mounted to orange anodised high grade aluminium hex-adaptors using serrated wheelnuts.

Anti-roll bar front
The ballraced wire type anti-rollbar in the front is really easy to access and change for other type or thickness as needed. The anit-roll bar is linked to the lower a-arms with a unique pivotball/cup system, which provides direct and smooth operation and is easy to set.

Servo-saver / steering
The centraly mounted steel servo-saver post fits the spring-loaded ballraced servo-saver system and steering. The inserts allow 2 ackermann settings. Due to the open design the linkages with L/R threading can be reached easily. The whole system allows for very precise steering and minimum bumpsteer.

Rear brackets
Very open rear end design with a composition of 8 machined alu brackets, allowing for controlled flex and easy maintenance. The differential brackets, L and R equal, are toothed and seat the excentric bearing holder, which allow for setting belttension. Its very quick and easy to mount a differential and or replace a belt.

The machined aluminium lower suspension brackets have roll-center inserts with 3 positions to choose from. The rear bracket is the V1 version, which is narrow than used on the 733, to achieve the new geometry together with the near lower arms and uprights.

Rear carbon shocktower and camber bracket
The 3.0mm carbon shocktower has 3 upper mounting position for the shocks and it mounts the body-poles. The camber bracket offers 8 positions to choose from, 4 inner and 4 out holes.

Suspension rear
The new lower rear arms together with the new uprights create the new geometry in the rear, to create a wider set-up sweet-spot with more grip and more steering. The upper camber rods connect to the carbon camber bracket with 8 mounting positions for roll-center and the camber rod is easy to access and has L/R threading for fast changes. The aluminium pivotball system allows for fast changes in width and toe-in. On the lower inside the wishbone pivots on springsteel pins, which seat with roll-center inserts in the anodised alu suspension brackets.

Lower rear wishbones
the composite lower wishbones feature a mounting position for the anti-roll bar linkage bracket in carbon, which moves the link position more outside and higher. Its also offers a mounting position for an optional carbon shock-mount bracket, to move the lower shockmount position further out, but for the default set-up its not needed. By placing the lower shock further out, you will get even more steering .

Uprights / wheel-axles
Durable medium type nylon uprights, which seat the wheel-axles bearings. The upright offers the mounting position for the steel camber-rod with L/R threading. The durable spring steel wheelaxles bring to power from the gear-diff to the wheels. Wheels are fitted on high grade anodised alu wheelhex adaptors and secured with serrated flanged wheelnuts.

Anti-roll bar rear
The ballraced wire type anti-rollbar in the rear is really easy to access from the top and change for other type or thickness as needed. The anti-roll bar is linked to the lower a-arms with a steel rod. The lower arms offers 2 mounting positions to choose from.

Gear-differentials
Compact, durable and light gear differential. Pecision moulded steel gears, 2 small and 2 large ones. Steel internal shaft. The very durable and light spring steel lightened diff-adaptors connect to the driveshafts. The geardiff is same front and rear.

CVD driveshafts
Spring steel, light and very durable CVD’s used in the front. Precision mounted hard steel pins

Drive-shafts
Spring steel, light and very durable dogbones used in the rear. Precision mounted hard steel pins

Pullies
Precison moulded super-true pullies, which feature holed sidewalls to let debris move out easier. Light and durable.

Belts
Kevlar reinforced belts with fine pitch. Longlasting and smooth.

Belt-tensioners
2 Ball raced belt-tensioners, machined from aluminium mount between the chassis and topdeck .

Manual
The 747-e comes with a full color online assembly manual, with easy to follow assembly steps. The manual also includes an exploded views section showing all part numbers, and a full parts-list, showing also all optionals for the 747-e.

Decals
The 747 includes one sheet with Serpent generic logo’s and one with 747 logo’s. Decals are very fine and thin material and come pre-cut.

Packing
The 747-e comes in a strong, small carton box with nice graphics. The packing of the bags follows the steps in the manual.

Compared to a regular 1/10 scale touringcar, the handling is very different, much easier. As you will race with a wider car of 200mm and use foam tyres on wider rims. The 1/10 200mm cars are also overall stronger ( and a bit heavier) and can take the extra power you have with ease, without wearing out fast. Even when crashing the 200mm cars are more durable and can absorb more power.

We recommend to use decent level 3S lipo, 1/10 brushless motor less than 5000kV, combined with a strong 1/8 scale speedo.

You can also use a brushless set from 1/10 TC touring, but it may not handle the traction created by the foam tyres, and cause thermal issue for both speedo and motor. We advice not to use it, or only at small tracks. At larger tracks for sure use the stronger 1/8 speedo.

The set-up of the 747-e chassis remains very close to the gaspowered one, speed is amazingly fast, and silent. A manual and the set-up sheet are posted online in serpent.com

Team: Greiner joins Serpent Works Team (03/11/2014)

Serpent is proud to announce that Dominic Greiner from Germany is selected to be part of the Serpent Works Team. His focus is on the 1/10 gas-class with the new Natrix 748, but also running the 411 ERYX and lately the 747-e as well.

Quote by Dominic
I´m very happy to be a part now from the Serpent Works Team. 2013 could have been better for me, as I was very close to some really good results. I look forward to the 2014 season with my improved package. The work with Michael and the whole Serpent Team is always perfect and we worked hard together on the development from the 74x, and we will continue work on the performance from the car.

This year i plan to drive the whole ENS-Series, the European Championship in Spain and also the World Championship in Thailand. Of course the German Championship, too. In the winter i will drive a little bit with the 411 Eryx in the ETS-Series, but the most important class for me is of course Nitro.

In this way i would to say thank you to my technical coach Martin Heiner and the 2-Speed Group for the support from last year and I hope for a good cooperation and results in the next years.
