Oct 17, 2019The final round of the BRCA 1/10th IC & GT8 Nationals was held at Brooklands Raceway in Kent last weekend. Despite a poor weather forecast many drivers made the trip with points and final championship places up for grabs. Saturday was wet and rainy all day with only a few drivers venturing on to the track but most preparing wet cars for race day. No rain at driver’s briefing but a damp track made qualifying interesting. Round 1 of 200mm Touring saw Mark Green take TQ with 15 laps, Matthew Cook came in 2nd and Stewart Mcleod in 3rd. In 220mm TQ Devendra Mahatme scored 14 laps with Phil Edwards and Jamie Paton behind. GT8 Q1 TQ was Christopher Slater from Gareth Bell and Craig Woods.

Oct 15, 2019The 15th annual Novarossi Trophy was held at the iconic Automodellistico 5 Colli track in Gubbio, Italy, host of the 2016 IFMAR 200mm Nitro Touring Worlds. In 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring it was Manuel Strano with the overall TQ from Daniele Agostinelli in 2nd. After the 30-minute A-main final it was still Manuel Strano (Serpent) on top with Michele Scaglioni (Serpent) coming in 2nd, some two laps down. WRC Racing’s David Loppini would complete the top 3 podium result only 1.2 seconds behind Michele.

Sep 11, 2019In the semis we had 4 SRX8Evo drivers, In Semi B Nicolaj sadly had some technical issues with a driveshaft and had to retire. Semi A was a tight battle all 20 minutes, Nikolai and Daniel was having an epic battle riding only few meters apart the entire race pushing each other to the limit. At the end Daniel came out on top with Nikolai 2nd, Jan (SRX8Evo) 4th and Julie (SRX8Evo) 6th just outside the bump to the final.

Jul 17, 2019Round 6 of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit Nationals was held at Mendip RC Raceway this weekend. 32 drivers were in attendance in nitro and 7 had booked in electric. The track was nicely prepared and sprayed to ensure grip would be good and consistent. The track was still dusty for practice on Saturday morning but the grip quickly came up under the Somerset sun. It was all about getting good lines and watching tyre wear, which would prove to be a bit of an issue on race day. Sunday started as usual with the drivers’ briefing, during which a minute silence was observed in memory of Dave Waters, former BRCA Chairman, who recently passed away.

May 31, 2019On Sunday another engine on, adjustment in hand, a little before the final on the slope at the warm-up and a start was made. At the start I had to allocate a few places and started a remonte until I was in fourth place with a small lap behind coming from the tire change on the right. This went fairly quickly. We also had to add an extra tank turn since we did not make it 5 minutes. After the last refueling I was hit by a car and the left rear wheel was broken, causing the car to break out in the right-hand corners.

May 13, 2019The opening round of the Galician On-road Regionals was hosted by the Automodelista Vigues club last weekend. In the 1/10th Formula class it was Francisco Bello Calvo with the clean sweep in the qualifiers, taking the pole position from Omar Rodriguez on the 2 spot. The final then again saw Francisco leading the field in all three finals to take the day’s win from Omar on the runner-up spot. Ruben Manuel Aneiros came in 3rd to round out the podium.
