Last weekend saw the annual Trofeo Novarossi race take place at the famous Italian Fiorano circuit. Some of the sports greatest drivers were in attendance including Collari, Ielasi, Picco, Solaroli, Pirani and Balestri but it was Serpent\'s own Andrea Cristiani that took the victory with his 960.

Great weather greeted the 100 competitors for the big event and on Saturday drivers had two of the four qualifiers with fuel consumption the critical factor for the 5 minute runs.

With his Max engine, Enneti tyres and new Zytec body working perfectly in the conditions, Cristiani used his Serpent 960 to secure the TQ position from Alberto Picco, Stefano Solaroli and 8 times World Champion Lamerto Collari setting the fastest time in the first of Sunday morning\'s quailifiers.

The big decision now facing drivers was the tyre choice for the final. Go soft and do tyre stops or go hard and save time in the pits but careful calculations by the Cristiani team saw him go for the soft option.

A good start to the final saw Cristiani go straight into the lead as the others got caught up in a first corner incident. Setting incredibly fast lap times including the fastest lap of the race with a 14.911, the Serpent ace pulled out a comfortable lead eventually crossing the finish line three laps up on second place Picco adding yet another winners trophy to the youngsters impressive list of achievement.
