On the last weekend of June we had the 3rd round of National Championship 1/8 On Road at Vigo here in Galicia. This is a very special track for me, not really my hometrack but as if it were! A very beautiful one in front of the sea and where I have beautiful memories and this race it is sure my big moment there because it is the second Spanish Championship for me!
This season started really nice with two wins in the first race at Valladolid and then at the second one at Getafe, Madrid. So, we had the possibility to win the championship here at home as our Spanish Championship consist in 4 Races counting 3 results. We planned the race as a one more trying to race as always and not thinking in the possibility of the National Title (not easy to be honest...). We arrived on Friday and free practice was good but we was not fast as we wanted. Nacho López and Victor Pelaez was on the podium also in the two previous races and was really fast too.

On saturday on qualifying I think we found and extra in the setup of our Serpent 990 EVO and we got a fast and easy to drive car! May be even better a little more steering but we was really fast making 14 laps on qualy and Pole Position for Sunday Race.
On Sunday with a revised car for the race, we found on the finalists free practice that the car was really fast and our engine was also amazing! In training we went under 18 seconds per lap for the first time and it really surprised us as the car was super fast and easy to drive at the same time. Then in the final we maintained the first position at the start with a two tyre-change strategy like I think the other pilots. At the begining we fight with Nacho but he suffered a problem about min 16 so the rest of the final we only needed to watch Victor´s tyre strategy and lap times and at the end save tyres to the end can take the finish line in 1st position!

So, after some years fighting with these really fast drivers we got it back this year with 3 TQ and 3 Wins!
I am really happy to get this second Spanish Championship with Serpent, our brand for many years! Congratulations also to my Team mates Sergio Rivas (P5 in A-Main Final) and Alberto Cruces (winner of the B Final). Also congratulations to all Team Serpent drivers there at Vigo and all the pilots and friends for all the congratulations received and for the great atmosphere in this category.
