Round 5 of the BRCA British 1:8 Onroad Nationals took place at the Wombwell circuit last weekend where Team Serpent UK driver Tim Wood claimed his second win of the season with the 960 \'08.
In qualifying Round 4 winner and Serpent factory driver Mark Green set the pace TQ\'ing ahead of fellow 960 driver Richard Hicklin in the dry conditions.
Unfortunately for the finals the rain arrived making for a wet race. Green was unable to make the start so Hicklin led for the first 10 mins with Wood chasing hard. As the conditions changed and started to dry Wood took over the lead and pulled out a comfortable gap over the No. 2 car. With two laps to run drama was to hit Hicklin as his engine failed and he was unable to finish and dropping to third in the final result while up front Wood took the win one lap up on second placed Neil Diver.

1. Tim Wood - Serpent 960/Mega ZX21
