Serpent Cobra GT 3.1 1/8 EP Serpent introduces the updated version of the Cobra GTE. The Cobra GT is a very popular choice in this class with superb performance and being known as a very durable car too. Time to add some extra refinement. The Cobra GT is sensitive on the shock-angle and position both front and rear and that have been fine-tuned even more. The new version aluminum shock extensions in the front and rear are a bit longer than before, as testing showed a good increase in handling. The new super-durable carbon fibre shocktowers and new upper hardcoated alu shockmounts make things perfect. The Cobra GT 3.1 version gets the most popular shock springs as standard, and same goes for the ball raced anti-roll bars and shock and diff oils.

Durable oversized  lower suspension arms in strong composite nylon. On the lower side the special downstops screws are mounted. The lower shock-mounting pins are secured with a small grubscrew from the bottom.

Rear  uprights  assembly
Alumnium, black anodised and laser engraved uprights with 3 upper roll-center positions. Strong steel track-rods with L/R threading and strong balljoints  to pre-set camber. Spring steel wheel-axles with large size bearings 8x16x5 and 13x19x4  with precision threaded aluminum wheel-hubs with +3 offset  . Rubber dustcovers in the rear to protect the cvd system and keep the lubrication inside. Flanged wheel nuts to guarantee that you will not loose a wheel nut in a race.

Rear anti-roll bar
The ballraced front anti-roll bar  system, consist of a spring steel bend wire, which is guided through the diff-cases and runs in ballraced steel adaptors.  The wire is linked to the lower suspension arm, with a captured adjustable threaded pivotball, for very precise and low friction  operation.

Shocktower rear   / alu shock-risers
4.5mm thick carbon shocktower, integrated into the rear section for extra stiffness,  with 5 upper positioning holes for the shocks and 6 holes for roll-center positions.     The durable machined alu shock-risers in the rear allow for a more onroad aimed angle of the shockabsorber creating more overall grip and more predictable cornering.

Shocktower and bodymounts front   / alu shock-risers
new 4.5mm thick carbon shocktower with 5 upper positioning holes for the shocks and and 6 holes for roll-center positions.  1 centrally located adjustable bodymount , and 2 forward mounted adjustable bodymounts, all with flip-tops.    The durable machined alu shock-risers in front allow for a more onroad aimed angle of the shockabsorber creating more overall grip and more predictable cornering.

Angled steering system / servo saver
The bell cranks are angled to reduce the angle of difference between the total caster and steering plane. Therefore you will have less bump steer and a truer steering Ackerman through the entire range of suspension

Ackermann plates
With the design of the steering bell cranks when changing the Ackermann you will not need to adjust your steering tie rods. You simply will only need to adjust your end points on your radio..

Explaining the new features

New alu shockabsorber risers front and rear
The durable machined alu shock-risers front and rear allow for a more onroad aimed angle of the shockabsorber creating more overall grip and more predictable cornering.

New carbon shocktowers front and rear
The new 4.5mm lower carbon fibre shocktowers also accomodate the new shock angles, with a choice of 5 holes for further fine-tuning.

Harder silver front and rear black GT8 springs for the big bore shocks, to handle the higher speeds and have less lean / chassis roll in the fast corners and more overall grip.

Harder anti-roll bars   2.3 front and 2.7 rear to handle the higher speeds and have less lean / chassis roll in the fast corners and more overall grip.

Servo saver hard: for faster  steering response and a more direct steering feel.
