The third round of the inaugural Euro Touring Series travelled to the Netherlands over the weekend where Serpent's S400 showed well in both Pro Stock and Modified as it literally flew around the superb MACH track.
With rain affecting round 5 and 6 on Thursday, the organisers cancelled the running for that day and decided to try and run round 6 on Friday morning before the lower finals. Unfortunately the weather didnt want to play along and the 6th round of qualifying was also abandoned. This left Serpent 960 racer, Massimo 'Max' Fantini in pole position for this years World Championship, having set the fastest time in qualifying on Wednesday, a fantastic result for the team who are using the new rear end for this World Championships.
The Serpent team are at this years 1/8th scale World Championships in Cordoba Argentina and the event has gotten off to a very good start for the team with the first 2 rounds of qualifying complete and seeing 2 Serpent 960s at the head of the field. Overnight pole position belongs to Italian racer Massimo Fantini who set a time of 33L 10:09.45 in his second round of qualifying to go quickest and improve on his first round time by 1 second. Backing up this top result for Serpent is Fantini's team mate Fabio Domanin who pulled a great run out of the bag in the slightly cooler 2nd round to go 2nd...
Here we go again!! The second practice day was a long day with a lot of testing. The traction has increased big time, the grey carpet got all black. Due to this, lots of racers have problems with traction rolling and lifting wheels, even in the rubber classes too much grip is an issue.
Serpents top foam drivers Jeff Cuffs and Jared Scott are looking good on the track with their S400s. Their experience in foam Touring also helped the others on the team finding a reasonable set-up. Thanks Jeff and Jared, good work!!
Tire choice at the right time seems to be the key, hopefully we get it sorted...
The Kissimmee track hosted the sixth round of the Forgass Florida State Series over the weekend where Serpent drivers dominated racing.
In 1:10 Danny Horta headed home fellow Serpent 720 racer D.J. Apolaro to give the Mega ZX powered pairing a superb 1-2 result. Horta's win reversed the result of the fourth round of the series when Apolaro won at Homestead RC Speedway ahead of Horta.

Serpent's 720 has TQ'd for the 2007 Florida Winternats following a stunning final qualifying run by leading Serpent team driver Paolo Morganti.
Lying second overnight, Morganti pulled out all the stops in his final run to go top of the time sheets and secure pole position for the A-Main final.
Backing up Morganti's performance, Danny Horta made great use of his local track knowledge to secure 4th fastest time. Horta is a multiple finalist at the Winternats and is looking very strong for the A-Main final. Both drivers are using Max based engines to power their 720 around the demanding Fort...
Paolo Morganti and Michael Salven head the Team Serpent challenge for success at the 2007 Florida Winternats.
The defending 1:10 champion, Morganti improved his time in day two of qualifying (Wednesday) to jump two places and go second on the time sheets. Unfortunately in round 3 and 4 of qualifying for the 1:8 category Morganti was unable to improve on his time as others did and he drops from 2nd to 6th in the overall times.
While Morganti found himself dropping down the order n 1:8, former Winternats TQ & Champion Michael Salven had a productive day to go top Serpent driver with the 5th...
