Billy Easton will travel to the big CRCRC race to race 1/8 nitro buggy with Serpent Cobra.
Around 8 to 10 Serpent Cobra drivers from across the USA will join in, also Paul Ciccarello will give 1/8 offroad another chance with his Serpent Cobra !

All year I have been looking forward to the GLC. Last year the Roar fuel nats was at Toledo, my home track and I finished 3rd. This year I was running a different car, engines, tires, bodies and was looking forward to see where I stacked up against the competition compared to last year.

in 1/8 scale Paul Ciccarello with Serpent 966 was able to take the win at the well attended GLC race, where also Tosoline, Swauger, Burch and many other competed for the win.

Over 130 drivers in 1/10, 1/8, 1/8 masters and 1/8 GT.

On May 1-2, the Mentor On-Road Racers kicked off the 41st edition of the Midwest Series, the world’s oldest! The race was held at the Lakeland Community College, and is always a pleasant return to grass-roots, parking lot racing. The host club did a fantastic job of hosting the event, overcoming just two brief interruptions for rain. The format for this race was 4 qualifying heats on Saturday, and an additional qualifying heat on Sunday. The 30 minute mains for all heats followed.

Paolo Morganti TQ'd the On-road State series with Serpent 966.
DJ Apolaro ( Serpent 966) was also very fast and was within a second.
Paul Ciccarello, who also switched to Serpent 966, qualified 5th in his first race with Serpent 966.
Rain washed out the 8th scale finals so results are Paolo 1st, DJ 2nd, Paul 5th, me 9th. Finals 4 Serpents, 5 Mugens and 1 Motonica.
We ran on the Worlds layout and everyone liked it a lot. Fast, flowing... Fast lap was DJ with 17.7 sec lap.

In super-stock Ciccarello made a super 3rd place, podium finish with S120 Link, also 3rd fastest lap in the final. Team mate DeSoto, 1st ever 1/12 race came in 9th, well done too.
in modified Ciccarello achieved a 4th place, half second behind 3rd place only and managed the 3rd fastest lap in the final. DeSoto came in 6th.

I arrived at the hotel Monday night, and got all my stuff unpacked. I did some chatting with some of the racers I had not seen in a while, then decided to get some rest as I knew it was going to be a long week.
Tuesday morning was practice, it went well, both Markus and I were on pace. There were a few quicker drivers but we were happy about our cars a speed. Since Markus and I are the only ones so far to run the new link car we are always bouncing ideas off of each other through email, and its nice to see what each other is thinking about ways to go fast, weather the cars, motors or bodies....
