Last weekend saw the Swedish onroad elite gather for the final round of the Swedish national cup series, held at the superfast track in the city of Orebro.

Saturday was qualifying day, great weather and the track and been prepared with additives for maximum traction, actually so high that several of the 1:10 cars tractionrolled.
After some rounds of racing the track got more normal with a mix of fuel and tires on it.

The track has a very long straight and open corners so laptimes differ only a little among the top drivers, enginepower and correct gear-ratio becomes crusial to perform and...

Swedish national championship
(Serpent grand slam)

The race took place on the track of MHF-Skarpnäck which is known to be very difficult and challenging.
Friday the practice began with nice weather and the pleasant temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The condition of the track hasn´t got better with the past years so when it is economically possible for MHF it is time for new asphalt. When the qualifications where about to start Saturday morning the sky opened up and the rain started pouring down. Because of this most of the drivers only drove one qualification heat hoping that that would...

The 4 heats of qualifying are over, friday had 2 dry heats in which it needed to happen, and for many that did not work out.

Saturday 2 heats were both wet, so no chance to improve.

For Serpent Green and Salven in practise were always in top-4, but in the 1st 2 heats friday, some bad luck missed out good times.

Overall Green still in 5th, so really good still, Branson in 11th and Salven in 12th.

Top-20 as below.

Finals have started, and main finals on sundday with weather forecast not good yet.

Unfortunately the weekend brought very cold weather around, 5 degree and light rain in two days, not so fun but despite that drivers was very eager to race again after a long winterbreak. After the qualifications result was not as normal as some only drove a few laps to save the cars and test tires for the finals.
The running times of the finals was shortend due to the demanding conditions, in the end the result came out as follows.

Last weekend the Swedish Nats was held in Örebro, the track is very big with fast and flowing corners, normally the racing is very close on this fast track.

Friday was practice day, after heavy rain during the night it took some hours before the track was drivable, once it dried is showed that the grip was ok and the track a bit bumpy in some fast corners. Most drivers went out to find a good setup and testing engines and more.

Saturday saw four rounds of 7min EFRA rules qualifications, despite some light rain the qualifying could be completed in decent conditions and the racing was close...

Michael's 2006 Euro's 1/8 (01/08/2006)

By:

Dear Racers

Sometimes I wonder if there is anything like luck. I like to think there is no such thing, because that would mean there is something I can’t influence. But I have to admit that it sometimes is difficult to maintain that philosophy.
The European championship 1/8 this year was one of these races. It was held in Staffansdorp in Sweden. We arrived Monday morning on the track, which I already knew form the EFRA GP in June. At that very race we struggled, but we changed a few things after that. We got harder rims, harder front bearingblocks, and stiffer rear wishbones with a different...

European Championships 1:8TR (30/07/2006)

By:
Per-Ola Kent Hard

Today all the higher finals were running, from 1/32 and upwards and saw some really nice racing in sunny and very hot conditions.

In the first semi Michael Salven was just 2 seconds behind the leader Adrien Bertin at the end of the race and looking safe into the final when he took some air in the chicane and when he landed the rear tire came off by some reason, very unlucky and he could not make the final. In the second semi Swedish Mikael Fransson got engine problems just after some time and he retired some minutes later, no luck. Also Serpent drivers Mark Green and Steven Cuypers ran into...
