Markus Mobers is already at the track in Germany for the 1/12 scale Worlds in Burgdorf.
He will be running a further developed version of the Serpent S120 link car.
Below a brief interview with Markus.
Interview:
Hello Markus,
Q: Are you ready for the Worlds ?
A: Yes, I hope so. I have tested and practiced a lot for that event and I can say for sure that
our car is much faster than at the EC.
Q: What do you think about the track and lay-out ?
A: Well, I like that type of track, very very challenging. Also the carpet will be nice, it will be the
same carpet than at the major US races. Further the track barriers will be pipes, so if you make
a mistake you will loose time and not continue by cutting the inner greenfield.
Q: Do you have some new developments on the Serpent S120 car ?
A: yes, but at this moment I cant say anyting about it yet, basically its a S120 Link version car, but with some changes, that will become available for selling later this year.
Q: When can we see these new developments:
A: we will allow some pictures during the Worlds
Q; Which drivers, apart from you, will have best chances here in Germany and why ?
A: In my opinion there are 25 people who can make the A-main, so lots of competition. To me the Associated and Yokomo team seems to
be strongest, as it is the biggest team with major names like Reinhard, Völker and Levanen. Also the Corally team is strong with Fischer, Simo
und Hideo. My secret favourite is Josh Cyrul, he won every single Lipo race in the US in the past year.
Q: do you have an advantage to focus only on 1/12 , as you dont run 1/10 TC ?
A: I think its not an advantage, as I need to focus on family things and my main job too. Its not like having so much extra time by not running TC.
Q: which electronics, bodies and tyres will you be using / testing ?
A: I will use LRP electronics. I am very satisfied with their stuff. Hmmm shells...thats a good question, this will depend on the layout, I have not yet decided.
Like always, I will use my own tyre brand, MOBGUMS. There are two compounds, pink and magenta, I will test both in practice and simply run what feels best.
Markus, thx and Good luck at the WC in your home-country !
