The Motonica race was held in Las Vegas on May 1st and 2nd, I was basically there to support the racers, me and Steven Muller arrive late Friday night so we can relax and show up at the track early Saturday, when we arrive at the track Everyone was already getting ready for the 1st round of qualifying, 3 rounds of qualifying went smoothly and was done by 4:00PM, then comes the 35 lap shootout, this is a no holds bar race, meaning no turn marshal will be available, your pitman is your turn Marshall, it started with Sedan then 1/8 scale, our own Tony Clark (wearing Orange Serpent shirt) won the 35...
The Serpent drivers doing well at the warm-up, even when top 4 was out of reach for now. Many diferent brands to be found in the top 20, so no real domination visible.
Lots of things have been tested and data collected for further test later this year. During our 1st test in November 2009, weather and lap-times were very diferent from now and has major influence. During the real WC it will be blazing hot, so different again.
With Serpent 733, Paolo is Serpents fastest in 9th, with DJ in 11th, Scott in 12th and Mazzeo in 14th.
Full results below.
Main final at 15.00 Houston time.
Novarossi Challenge
Crystal Park Raceway – California
January 22nd-24th, 2010
Even though there was no victory this past weekend, I don’t think we could have asked for a better start to being part of Team Serpent……
When myself, Jim Adkins, and Rich Browne decided to head south to the Novarossi Challenge, we made sure to not expect too much since we had just joined the team two weeks before! We decided that I would race only the 733 in preparation of the upcoming Pre-Worlds and Jim would put the 966 through the paces.
We arrived at the track Friday for some practice, but alas, it...
Novarossi Challenge Race #1
Crystal Park Raceway
January 22-23rd 2010
For the past few weeks I have been building the new cars in preparation for the Novarossi Challenge hosted at Crystal Park Raceway, the first big race of the year.
I must say the task of building the both cars and working 16 hours a day seemed a little over whelming but once I opened the box of the 733 and began to thumb through the instructions the excitement took over and the build became my escape from the daily grind. To top it off the cars went together better than any other kit I have ever built. The instructions...
Ace driver Paul Ciccarello will race the Serpent 966 in 1/8 scale from 2010 onwards, Serpent is very proud to have Paul also on the 1/8 scale team. The cooperation for the 1/12 S120 and future 1/10 scale pan-class has been working out really well, so its really good to be able to coop in 1/8 scale as well.
Paul has shown in 2009 with his 3rd place at the well attended ROAR Nats, that he is a force to be reckoned with. The coop with Scott Kimbrow, Paolo Morganti, DJ and Jackson will most certainly help to achieve even better results by working together closely.
Paul Ciccarello has also joined...
Serpent / SerpentAmerica are proud to announce that Scott Kimbrow and his mechanic and successful racer Jim Adkins have joined Team Serpent.
