Serpent and their new Swiss distributor Trading Tech hosted a BBQ yesterday on the eve of qualifying for the 2007 EFRA 1:8 Onroad European Championships to ensure drivers and their mechanics are well prepared for the busy days ahead.
Serpent's Nitro Tour travels to Italy this weekend (23-25 March) with the 'Jody Scheckter' track at Fiorano playing host to the extremely popular event that will see a host of star drivers on hand to offer technical assistance to the large gathering of Serpent racers in attendance.
European Champion Fabio Domanin, Massimo Fantini and EC-B 1:8 Champion Andrea Cristiani together with staff from Serpent's Italian distributor Sprint RC will support this exciting three day event.
Last weekend Serpent's Italian distributor Sprint RC hosted its annual 'Trofeo Serpent Max Power' at the Battipaglia circuit near Naples and once again the event was a huge success.
Open to 1:10 Touring car drivers the event attracted 100 racers and team driver Fabio Domanin, the current 1:8 European Champion, was on hand to povide tech support to competitors.
This weekend Sprint RC will run another 'Trofeo' event this time open to both 1:8 and 1:10 cars at the Codana circuit near Torino.
This weekend Fiorano plays hosts to Italian EFRA Grand Prix for both 1:10 and 1:8 IC.
The sixth EFRA GP of the season, Serpent Motorsport will be represented in the event by current European 1:8 Champion Fabio Domanin, Euro 1:8 'B' Champion Andrea Cristiani and Massimo Fantini.
Situated near Bologna, the track is named after Ferrari legend Jody Scheckter and it is not uncommon for Ferrari F1 cars to be heard testing at their official test track which is situated very near the r/c venue.
And here we go again... Some minutes ago the third qualification round of Group B has been finished at the beautiful race track here in Brisbane. Today the weather is fine. Eventually the sun is shining and luckily there is less (cold!) wind than yesterday. This morning the track seems to be a little bit slower than during the last heats being run yesterday evening. For sure, this will change until the afternoon as racing will continue...
To keep you informed, here are first three top qualifiers after round 3:
1. Chris Tosolini 34 laps, 10:08.00 min
2. Takaaki Shimo 34 laps, 10:09.26...
This morning we woke up from the rain rattling on the windows so we decided to stay two more minutes in bed (probably sounds familiar to you..) and head off to the track a little bit later. After arriving at the track it stopped raining so the race organisation started drying the track with leaf blowers. We hope this helps and there will be some racing today.
In the meantime...again some other interesting stuff from the 'Snake Pit' here in Brisbane.
The second day of the Worlds have started again with beautiful weather (luckily less wind than yesterday) and lots of racing. We will keep you updated with short news sections the whole day.

Over the weekend of the EFRA 1:10 European Championship in the Netherlands, Serpent Motorsport made a special presentation to team driver Fabio Domanin in recognition for his victory at the recent 1:8 Euros in Sweden.
